Verification Along the Way
We have a multiple stage verification process, with direct human oversight at each step along the way. When a name is submitted to us as someone who has passed away, we immediately begin a verification process that includes at least two independent verifiers (as designated by the Legacy Locker account holder).
After both of the verifiers have confirmed that the account holder is deceased, we also require a certified copy of the individual's death certificate. Once that is received, we begin the process of alerting any beneficiaries of assets bequeathed to them. The beneficiaries also need to confirm their identity, and then receive the information designated for them from the Legacy Locker account holder. This may sound like a lot of work, but we feel your digital assets require the same trust and care as your life insurance, property, jewelry, cars, or other valuables.
